The Krua Poy Beach Resort shares a driveway with the Prasaansuk Resort, but offers a very different experience to its customers. It has a dozen traditional Thai-style beach huts, all with aircon and with a few contemporary design touches inside, ranging from the twin-bed rooms at 550 baht, larger doubles at 1000 a night, and up to the suite at 2,000 a night which can sleep 6 and has a spacious sitting area outside. The doubles are very popular and do get booked up at weekends, so it is worth contacting them beforehand to check availability.

The person to call is Palm, the resort manager, who speaks excellent English and has big plans for this cosy resort. He already offers windsurfing rental from 300 baht an hour and lessons from 1200 baht for 3 hours, and wants to extend these activities to include kitesurfing and waterboarding to make this the number one watersports resort in Nakhon Si Thammarat.

The restaurant menu is extensive with lots of seafood on offer, including by-weight fish and shellfish, but there are small meals around 50 to 80 baht available too. Other services include internet access, with wireless access, at 50 baht an hour, and a taxi service to Sichon town for a reasonable 50 baht, or further afield with more scary prices, such as 2,000 baht for an airport run.

A cracking little resort on a mostly deserted golden-brown beach shared with two other quiet resorts and a handful of small restaurants. This one is definitely worth a visit.
