An established resort, with some planned changes
This resort is not as new as Yeoser Beach Resort just up the road, but it is quite a bit cheaper and certainly has plenty to offer. Mainly the deluxe bungalows, which are very big, with a small balcony at the door, a sitting area inside, a big bedroom with a deep, bouncy-looking bed, and lots of big french-windows including one pair at the bottom of the bed that open on to a much larger balcony overlooking the sea. The twin and bungalows are more than big enough too, but don't have the sitting area and small balcony, and are set a little further back from the beach.

The gardens are nice enough, but there is some work ongoing which is going to be finished 'soon'. A welcome addition for most visitors will be the pool which is mostly finished, and there is also going to be a conferencing centre which looks as though it's been half completed for a while. This is set back a little from the bungalows and has a few mature trees around it, so it might not affect the feel of the place. It just doesn't look that pretty when you first drive into the resort. And that goes for a few old houses on the perimeter of the resort too. One has been converted into the spa and massage centre, and it lookes very nice indeed, so hopefully there are plans to convert the others too.

The restaurant is simple, and the menu offers the usual Thai dishes, ranging from fried rice and one-dish meals from as little as 40 baht, lots of main courses at about 80-120 baht, and seafood specials which are mostly by weight. A downside is that the menu is all in Thai, though the restaurant manager does speak good English and she will be able to help out. They don't get many foreigners here, but after the building work is completed there are plans to do a little more marketing and get the website working, so English menus might be available in the future.

It's an interesting option if you're visiting the area, especially if you want to wake up in a deep, bouncy bed with a view of the sunrise over the sea.
