About 5km south of Tha Sala, going a kilometer or so down a side road will bring you to this lovely little resort sat right on a well-maintained private beach. There are 6 bungalows here, with some of them only being completed in the last year or so, and for 550 baht a night you get a large room with a balcony and private bathroom, with mosquito net and fan. The restaurant here offers simple breakfasts, quick stir fries, soups and spicy salads, and a couple of pages of specials and larger meals with nothing over 150 baht. Then there's the by-weight seafood which can get as expensive as you want it to if you're really hungry.
Haad Sunrise Beach itself is nice in some ways with some light fine sand, but though the rock breakwaters do calm the waves down very much, they don't make for the prettiest of scenes. That said, they do make the beach safer for swimming, especially for kids, so it's horses for courses really.
Overall, a very quiet and friendly resort.
